Millwork Drafting
Services
Most drafting firms hand you a drawing. We hand you clarity. At Future Millwork, our millwork shop drawing services are developed around one principle: every line we draw has to work on the shop floor, not just look right on screen. We think like manufacturers, because that's the only way shop drawings actually reduce revisions instead of creating them.
We Think Like Manufacturers
Our architectural millwork design experience isn't just drafting experience. We understand how the decisions made in a drawing set affect what happens on the shop floor — and we make those decisions with the fabricator in mind every time.
AWI & AWMAC Compliant as a Default
Every set of shop drawings we produce meets AWI and AWMAC standards. If your project specs a different grade or compliance level, we work to that. No extra step required on your end.
Fewer RFIs. Fewer Revisions. Faster Approvals.
Clear, coordinated millwork shop drawing services means less back-and-forth with the architect and GC. We've seen what happens when drawings aren't coordinated — RFIs pile up, approval cycles stretch, and the shop floor stalls. Our clients consistently see faster approvals and cleaner installs.
A Selective Client Model
We intentionally limit our client onboarding each quarter. This isn't a capacity constraint — it's a quality decision. We'd rather serve fewer clients extremely well than overload our team and compromise the detail that makes our millwork design work valuable.
Long-Term Partnership, Not One-Off Work
We're not set up for transactional volume work. We build long-term relationships with shops, contractors, and design teams who need a reliable millwork drafting services partner they don't have to re-explain their standards to every project.
WHY CHOOSE US
A lot of architectural millwork drafting companies compete on speed and price. We compete on one thing: the quality of the drawing set you can actually use. Here's what that looks like in practice:
Areas of Expertise
Casework & Cabinets
drawings and production-ready drafting for residential, commercial, and institutional cabinetry.
Cabinet millwork is one of the most revision-heavy categories in the industry, and usually for the same reasons: drawings that don't account for hardware clearances, material specs that aren't matched to actual supplier offerings, or assembly details that only make sense in theory. We produce casework and cabinet millwork drawings with fabrication logic built in. Kitchen and bath cabinetry, office casework, retail fixtures, institutional storage systems — your shop floor gets drawings that answer questions before they're asked.
Custom Millwork
Custom millwork is where craftsmanship meets engineering. Every profile, reveal, and joint matters.
Not every piece comes from a catalog. Custom millwork designs require a different level of care — every profile, reveal, and joinery detail has to be resolved before it reaches the shop, or it becomes a field problem. We handle reception desks, feature counters, built-ins, decorative mouldings, and architectural focal elements. Our millwork design approach balances traditional joinery principles with modern drafting precision, so the result is both beautiful and actually buildable.
Doors, Wall Panels & Trims
Architectural detailing defines a space. Well-executed doors, paneling, and trim work elevate interiors from standard to refined.
Architectural millwork design for doors, paneling, and trim is where detailing decisions define the final result. A poorly coordinated trim package shows. We draft flush, stile-and-rail, and specialty doors, along with wainscoting, feature walls, cladding systems, and full crown and base packages. Every component is coordinated against the overall design intent and field conditions, so installation goes in clean the first time.
our Process
A lot of drafting partners start drawing the moment they get files. We don't. Before we produce a single shop drawing, we take time to understand your standards, your software environment, your preferred detailing conventions, and your shop floor setup. That front-end investment is why our clients rarely need a second round of major revisions.

FAQ
What's included in your millwork shop drawing services?
Every project includes plan views, elevations, sections, and detail drawings. Depending on the scope, we also produce hardware schedules, material callouts, finish schedules, and installation notes. All drawings are AWI and AWMAC compliant by default and are delivered in your preferred file format.
Do you handle cabinet millwork and casework projects?
Yes — cabinet millwork and casework are two of our core service areas. We produce detailed drawings for kitchen and bath cabinetry, office casework, retail fixtures, institutional storage systems, and specialty casework for commercial projects. Our drawings include fabrication-ready details for hardware, joinery, and material specs.
What does 'architectural millwork design' mean in your context?
Architectural millwork design refers to the drafting and detailing of custom wood elements that are part of a building's architectural finish — things like feature walls, reception desks, wainscoting, built-ins, mouldings, and specialty doors. We translate the architect's design intent into production-ready shop drawings that fabricators can build directly from.
How do your millwork drafting services handle revisions?
Revisions are part of the process, and we're set up for them. We don't cap revisions artificially — we fix what needs fixing until the drawing set is right. Fast markup turnaround and consistent communication throughout.
Can you work with custom millwork designs that aren't standard catalog items?
That's actually where we do our best work. Custom millwork designs — one-off pieces, non-standard profiles, specialty joinery — require more care at the drafting stage to prevent shop floor problems. We resolve all of those details before anything goes to production.
What software do you use for shop drawings?
We work in AutoCAD as our primary platform. If you have specific software requirements for your CNC workflow or need files in a particular format, let us know during intake and we'll accommodate that.
